High resolution calibration of the cosmic strings velocity dependent one-scale model

The canonical velocity-dependent one-scale (VOS) model for cosmic string evolution must be calibrated using high resolution numerical simulations, We exploit our state of the art graphics processing unit accelerated implementation local Abelian-Higgs networks to provide a detailed and statistically robust calibration VOS model. rely on largest set simulations carried out date, with wide range cosmological expansion rates, explore impact key parameters, including dynamic (comparing box sizes from $1024^3$ $4096^3$), lattice spacing, choice estimators velocity. sensitivity parameters these particular emphasis observationally crucial loop chopping efficiency, also identify differences between equation conjugate momentum velocities, showing that latter one is more reliable fast rates (while in Minkowski space opposite has been previously shown). Finally, we briefly illustrate how results observational constraints strings.
